Bio and Qualifications
I am the incumbent Treasurer for Old Lyme, currently serving my first term. During that time I have built a solid relationship with the Finance Department in Town Hall because the job of the Treasurer is to ensure bills are paid and Town investments are strong. Regarding investments, when interest rates started to go up in the past year I worked with our bank to change how our bank accounts are managed to get us the best possible return on our savings. With that one move, our rate of return increased almost 4%. These are the kinds of details that I enjoy working on to ensure our tax dollars are being utilized in the most effective ways. My day job as a mechanical engineer and technology manager includes identifying and securing funding necessary for developing the future of the aerospace industry. Similarly to Town Treasurer, once funding is secured, I am responsible for making sure those dollars are being spent in the most efficient ways possible.

Why should someone vote for you?
Because I care about Old Lyme and take my role in town hall seriously. Besides managing the responsibilities of Treasurer, I have stepped up in other areas when the town was in need of help. In early 2020 I joined the IT Committee because there was need for leadership in this area. Working with other staff on the committee, we led projects that brought all town buildings and IT systems up to the highest quality standard. Because of this proactive approach, when the requirements for cyber insurance suddenly tightened, Old Lyme was able to get insurance without making any upgrades to our systems. Another example is when our Town's Finance Director went on medical leave. After one month, the leadership in Town Hall had still not found a replacement. I stepped in, worked with Selectman Shoemaker and we had a replacement working for us within two weeks.

Fun Fact about you
I was easily the oldest participant in "The Biz," which is the LYSB talent show fundraiser. My 10-year old son and I sang "Sittin on the Dock of the Bay" acapella together in front of a packed house in the Middle School Auditorium.

What is your favorite place in Old Lyme?
My favorite place in Old Lyme is White Sand Beach. Going to the beach whenever we want is the best perk of living in Old Lyme.

What do you do in your spare time?
I have three kids, what spare time? Whenever we have spare time, my favorite things to do are go hiking on the Land Trust trails and go to the little league fields to practice baseball and softball with my kids.
