What do you want voters to know about you?
I am a lifelong learner, and will seek out answers to the challenges that are faced. I believe in using sound reasoning rather than emotion to drive decision making. |
Education BA English and Psychology, Quinnipiac University MA Psychology, Connecticut College Sixth Year of Advanced Graduate Studies in School Psychology, Southern Connecticut State University Specialization in Applied Behavior Analysis, UMASS Amherst What inspired you to run for local office? As a school psychologist with nearly 20 years in public education, I’ve dedicated my career to understanding how children learn and grow. I am excited to bring my understanding of both special and general education to the Board of Education and to help ensure that the decisions made truly support both teachers and students. As my son has progressed through the grades I have often wanted to be able to be more invovled, and believe that my skills are best suited for the Board of Education. |

Bio and Qualifications
I live with my husband and 5th grade son in Old Lyme. I am certified through the State of CT as a Professional Educator within the area of School Psychology. I received my Masters degree in Psychology from Connecticut College and my Sixth Year Certificate in School Psychology from SCSU. I have also become licensed in the State of CT as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst. These skills form the foundation of my understanding of child development, evidence based curriculum, and student assessment. Why should someone vote for you?
I care deeply about students and ensuring that all children, regardless of their learning profile, succeed. I am an advocate for others, be it students, their parents, or the teachers. What’s your favorite place in Old Lyme?
Griswold Point! I love walking with my family after dinner to the beach and watching the sunset. What is something not many people know about you? I love fishing for salmon on the Kenai River! My mother moved to Alaska in her retirement, and now my family and I get to enjoy some of the best fishing in the world when we go to visit. |
