Jason Kemp | Board of Education
|
Why should someone vote for you?
I have a great appreciation and pride for our towns and our schools. In my career as a Family Relations Counselor in the courts I have honed my skills of listening, demonstrating patience and assessing complex problems. I believe those skills have helped me be a valued member of the Board of Education, working with administration, fellow board members of varied backgrounds, and the citizens of our towns. |
Education
BA, Wesleyan University JD, Cardozo School of Law Experience I was elected to the Board of Education in 2021 and I am the current Board Chair. I have been a Family Relations Counselor with the CT Judicial Branch, since 2008. I work with families in custody and divorce cases, trying to resolve matters in the best interest of the children and in ways that allow people to move forward with their lives in difficult times. I additionally work with assessing domestic violence cases and guiding eligible offenders towards treatment to try to prevent further violence. Why are you running for this office and what do you hope to accomplish while in office?
I am running for the Board of Education because I am interested in keeping the school system such a positive part of this town, while always looking for ways to improve. Additionally, I will focus on maintaining fiscal responsibility. What is your favorite place in Old Lyme and what is your favorite thing to do in Old Lyme?
One of my favorite things to do in Old Lyme is to have Vecchitto's Italian Ice in Sound View with my daughter Madeleine. |
